Nuriko
Marked with the character "willow" on his
chest, nuriko's beauty is only rival to that
of Hotohori. Given the gift of strength
from suzaku, he is not only physically
strong but mentally strong as well. Nuriko
is a definite fan favorite. For his quirky
ways, always teasing Miaka, to his serious
side being almost a brother like figure for
the rest of the seishi (especially those that
are younger than him) Nuriko though, is
surely different from the rest of the
seishi. Capturing the hearts of all that
knew him. Although a boy, Nuriko tends to
appear more woman like than anything
(going so far as even dressing the part)
and is even deeply in love with Hotohori,

Nuriko didn't always dress as a girl actually when he was young he acted like all
the other little boys around. The middle child of a family in the textile
business in the center of Konan's capital, Nuriko looked out for both his
siblings. Always standing up for his older brother Rokou (who didn't find his
backbone until the second arc of the manga) and being simply obsessed with
his little sister Kourin. Nuriko, and Kourin were only a year apart, and looked
like they could be twins. They did everything together, and were the best of
friends never leaving each others sides. But like all the others seishi's origin
stories, Nuriko's is just as sad if not sadder. When Nuriko was 11, and Kourin
was 10 a horrible accident occurred. An average day in the town square a
speeding carriage came down the street, and little Kourin as caught in the
path. Nuriko never recovered from the loss , and to make her live on, he
began to dress like her . Taking the name of his late sister and joining the
imperial harlem, is where Nurikio meets up with Miaka and the others to
being the quest of a life time.
Like I said before, Nuriko is a fan favorite, could it be because of his teasing

this is drowning in drama? no one knows the origin of nurikos great appeal...

that he was longing for since the death of kourin. And even though not directly
admitted, right before Nuriko perished, could he have felt something more
than friendship for his miko? Has Nuriko too fallen under the miaka curse?
