Ah ... Suzaku, when you think of Fushigi Yuugi you think of the love between Tamahome and Miaka, the eternal romance that crossed even the limitation of two different worlds. Miaka is the only priestess who gets to live forever with her beloved seishi of choice, but really which other priestess could overcome such feats? After all Suzaku is the eternal phoenix, the very symbol of love.
Miaka's tale is a one of growth, and realizing what it means to love. She starts her journey as a middle school student just wanting to pass her entrance exams, into one who is willing to give her life to save the world she was born in, along with all those that she loves. Even though Miaka does get her man in the end, she is forced to go through many traumatizing things, that before she entered the book never even fathomed of encountering. Miaka is a strong character, and the popularity of Fushigi yuugi shows that.
Fushigi Yuugi is an immensely popular anime series, and manga.
